VERTICALLY ORIENTED SHOCK

The decision to incorporate a vertical shock into the design of the LANDO XC brings significant advantages, particularly in terms of weight reduction and rigidity. By positioning the shock vertically, the forces exerted by the shock can be concentrated in the already sturdy and reinforced bottom bracket area. As a result, the top tube can be designed to be lightweight without the need for excessive carbon layering, which would add unnecessary weight. Additionally, this design ensures that the shock remains completely isolated from any lateral loads, leading to improved shock longevity and enhancing the bike’s sensitivity to small bumps. Furthermore, the absence of binding further enhances the overall performance and responsiveness of the shock.

PREDICTABLE SUSPENSION

Serious XC riders understand the importance of reliable suspension performance across all gears. Whether you’re powering through a challenging climb or navigating a flowing trail, dealing with kickback or brake jack is the last thing you want. That’s why we have developed our own unique single pivot “faux-bar” linkage system, offering rear travel of 115mm with a 45mm stroke shock, and 100mm with a 40mm stroke shock. Our kinematics philosophy focuses on maintaining anti-squat levels around 90%, ensuring that the suspension remains responsive and active even when you’re exerting maximum power. With our design, you won’t need to worry about the technical details – just focus on riding and leave the rest to us.

SPLIT SEAT TUBE

At Factor, our design features are always purpose-driven and never merely for aesthetic appeal. The LANDO XC’s split seat tube serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it pays homage to the Twin Vane EVO split down tube found on our road bikes. Secondly, it enables the utilization of a monobox chainstay design, contributing to reduced weight and improved performance. The shared pivots, directly mounted into the frame, create a highly rigid and precisely aligned interface for the entire suspension system. This ensures optimal suspension performance and a smooth riding experience across various terrains. Every element of the LANDO XC’s design serves a functional purpose, resulting in a high-performance mountain bike that excels in both form and function.

ONE-PIECE MOLDED CARBON ROCKER

The one-piece molded carbon rocker of the LANDO XC is designed to provide exceptional stiffness, eliminating any side loading on the shock. This not only significantly prolongs the lifespan of the shock but also reduces static friction during use, resulting in improved overall performance. The shared shock and lower swing arm pivot, positioned as wide as possible, maximize the efficiency of the frame material, ensuring a simple, lightweight, and robust construction. To achieve a sleek and streamlined appearance, most fasteners are concealed or located on the non-drivetrain side, contributing to the clean aesthetics of the bike. This design approach draws inspiration from the blended designs seen in our high-end road bikes, further highlighting the attention to detail and continuity across the Factor product line.

PROGRESSIVE AND MODERN GEOMETRY

With its 67° head tube angle, the LANDO XC offers exceptional stability and control on technical terrain. The combination of this head tube angle with the 120mm travel fork allows you to comfortably shift your weight rearward, enabling you to maintain speed and drive through challenging sections of the trail.

The 75.5° seat tube angle, in conjunction with the zero offset seat post, optimizes your power output by positioning your knee directly over the pedal spindle. This alignment enhances your efficiency and enables you to generate maximum power with each pedal stroke.

The long top tube, combined with a relatively short stem, ensures that your center of gravity remains over the rear of the bike. This positioning promotes excellent traction and control, enhancing your overall riding experience.

The balanced rear center length, in coordination with the trail, provides predictable and responsive handling characteristics. This thoughtful combination ensures that you can confidently navigate corners and technical features with ease.

BLACK INC INTEGRATION

The design of the LANDO XC has been carefully integrated with Black Inc components to ensure an optimal ride experience while minimizing weight. These components are crafted from top-quality materials, including a remarkably strong Ni-Cr axle, CeramicSpeed bearings, and Sapim CX-Ray spokes.

The Black Inc TWENTY SEVEN wheels are specifically designed for XC riding, with a contemporary approach that caters to the demands of modern technical race courses and exceptional riders. These wheels offer outstanding performance thanks to their XC-specific features.

Completing the tailor-made suite of components, the LANDO XC features a one-piece barstem, a tow-bolt seat post, and a computer mount with a concealed Go-Pro attachment.
